becoming an... adult???

This weekend I got to do something few people get to do... I received my masters degree! As distinguished and accomplished as that sounds, it feels strange to me to be able to say that I did that... I have one of those... and I'm 25. Sometimes I still feel like I'm in undergrad and have to remind myself that I'm in my "mid-20's". It's so bizarre to me how fast times goes by, almost like it forgot to take me with it.
Anyhow... that was what I did that weekend and I think that what it involved was the best part! My parents (who I rarely get to see) drove all the way out here from Oklahoma to watch. Both of them have been so encouraging and supportive of me... I'm pretty independent and stubborn when it comes to making decisions so they have patiently been able to guide me int he right directions... Andrew was also able to come which was amazing because his work is being quite demanding right now... I'm pretty sure that if he was not in my life I would have never gotten my masters degree, I was DONE with school right around my junior yr of college... So thanks boo :) and my Aunt Sharon and Uncle John came as well. They aren't blood related, but Sharon was with my mom the day she gave birth to me, and they both have been telling me ever since I can remember that I have to go to college, that I have to get my degree... so I can definitely say that they had a HUGE influence in my education :) So I got to celebrate with the most influential people in my life... it was perfect!!!
Now I'm home, and thinking back on the weekend and I really can't be more thankful for the place that God has led me to in my life... some people would like to think that their achievements are all their own, but I'm pretty sure that I didn't do this on my own. With the encouragement from my family and friends and by the grace of my loving Father, I've become someone I've never dreamed I'd become... and it feels pretty neat :)

First Timers...

Clearly because I don't know what I'm doing and titled my blog "first timers" instead of just this post... anyhow, it won't matter cause I'll fix that as soon as I figure out how!
Blogging... a concept I never thought I'd get into, and I'm actually interested to see how long it lasts... I've tried journaling before and even though I love it so, it rarely last longer than a month.
I wante to start this though because now that I'm post high-school, post college and now post graduate work, I rarely get to catch up with some people that I love.
I'd like to just share whats going on in my life, so the posts will be random thoughts, events of the day... hopefully numerous funny stories... cause things happen that make me "lol" all day, and sometimes I don't ever get to share those with anyone. I want to share my life!!!
Also, Lady, you should get comfortable with that name because she is my best friend and is a cause for the majority of my daily laughter...
Amy, my room mate, AWESOME... you'll get to hear about her often as well...
Andrew, my amazing boyfriend... I'll try to not over do it with him :)
My best friends from college... Jenna, Kial, Bri, Nykol and Amber... I wish you could meet them if you haven't... what amazing women!!! We are all so different and have crazy fun times together... did I just say "Crazy fun"...
Nicole, Marisa and Ashley... lifelong friends from Frazier Park... incredible women as well... I'm so blessed with good friends.
Other people will be explained later...
First post... kind of rough... hopefully they'll get better...
Talk to you soon!
